Reflection
During this part of the project I was the writer and actor. Initially my partner Karley and I did research to understand what Ammonium Nitrates were and how they affected the environment. After that I wrote the script for both of the videos. I made sure to write the videos with little kids in mind and add fun phrases or simple wording while also getting the point across. While acting I made sure to add energy to what I was saying so that I wasn't just reading off of the script in a monotone way.
I had my best work when writing the script. I kept in mind the need for credible sources when researching and I filled pages with website links that I used to supplement what I wrote. I started by doing a broad google search of what I wanted to know about, this normally led to a wikipedia page that I could then use to generally educate myself. Since Wikipedia can't always be trusted I used it to find citations of other sources that were more credible. I tried to stay organized with my research by categorizing it and even adding quotes that would be useful.
In terms of the video we could still improve the speech part of it because I sped through some words and the audio isn't very continuous. In addition to that we could generally polish the video so that it is very professional looking. I still need to improve on my camera presence because I forgot my lines many times (so many times that we had a whole blooper reel of them) and I was noticeably awkward at times.
We had a bit of difficulty filling the time because we covered all of the basic information in a very short time. We ended up making two videos that would cover two different but related topics: ammonium nitrate in the water and nitrogen fixation. By doing this we met our time requirement and also added much more information than we initially planned.
In all I feel that this video turned out very nicely and a lot of it was due to the responsibility of my partner and I as well as the great execution of our plans.
